passenger seat. After installing the new amp, it had power, it's indicator light and fan would turn on but there was no sound. The head unit also had power. Sooooo getting a little aggravated I proceeded to tear apart the dash and console to see if anywires had been disconnected. I had to adjust their location because the connection points were different on the new amp. All the wires seemed fine. After more aggravation I finally got a volt meter and there was only 3.4 volts between the amp and the ground under the seat. I looked at the fuse down stream from the battery and it was blown. I changed the fuse and everything came to life. Evidently 3.4 volts is enough to simulate life in the amp but not much else. If I had just looked at the main fuse in the first place I would have saved myself a practice session of dash / console removal and a ton of aggravation! Did I feel like an idiot - YES!
